Nine-seat ë-SpaceTourer is coming to UK
Citroën has launched an all-electric people carrier with up to nine seats and a 143-mile range.
The ë-SpaceTourer will arrive in the UK at the end of 2020, offering an all-electric solution to private hire and business travel providers, as well as extended families and sports and community groups. It can carry between five and nine occupants, depending on seat configuration, while its 50kWh battery and 136hp motor offer a 80mph top speed. The battery has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
There are three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Power – that offer a variety of combinations of range and performance, depending on the needs of the driver. In addition, there are two different settings for energy recovery, with the Enhanced mode offering more brake regeneration when the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal.
Charging can be undertaken either using a domestic electricity supply, via 7.4kW wallbox (which takes less than eight hours for a 100% charge) or using a public rapid charger (up to 100kW), with an 80% charge possible in 30 minutes. Owners can monitor the progress of charging using a MyCitroën app.
Two trim levels are available to UK customers. ë-SpaceTourer Feel is aimed primarily at private customers and comes as a five-, seven- or eight-seater. The seats are fitted to rails, so they can slide into place for the required interior layout, and the reclining backrests mean that they can be folded down. The ë-SpaceTourer Business offers five to nine seats and is intended for use as a shuttle, taxi, etc.
There are a number of driver assistance systems and three connectivity packages, one of which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone mirroring.
