E-Bike growth predicted in light of Covid 19

Thanks to the impact of Covid-19, the electric bicycle or E-bike market is predicted to grow by 12 per cent over the next few years.

According to technology research company Technavio, demand for eco-friendly transportation is to grow substantially across Europe, due to an increased awareness of the detrimental effects of vehicle emissions in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

E-Bikes are also considered as a mode of physical workout. The advantages afforded by cycling makes it feasible for a wide range of people, as it provides motorised assistance in certain situations, such as riding uphill.

The report’s writers claim “consumers across the globe are becoming increasingly aware of the health and environmental hazards caused by vehicles, and are hence, shifting towards non-polluting electric vehicles”.

The adoption of E-bikes is also being driven by convenience and the desire to live healthier lifestyles as well as many people’s continuing discomfort with the idea of travelling in close proximity to other people when using public transport.
